This body of work builds on the Semaphore series with a greater focus on individualized pieces. Unlike the numbered Semaphores, each new piece has its own title and identity, often quite apart from the others. Still composed primarily of weathered packing pallet wood, these pieces also employ a greater variety of materials, such as stained wood and plaster, and an ever-growing variety of forms. Initiated with Modulus, this body of work uses the mosaic as a jumping-off point for much more intricate compositions than the Semaphore style allowed; thematically, the flag has been abandoned in favor of the patchwork.
